Corporate SVP: Head of Transformation & CPO at ABB

Biography

Daniel Helmig held positions as Corporate Transformation Leader, Group Head Operations & Quality, Chief Procurement Officer and Director in companies such as ABB, Infineon, and Ford Motor Company. He recently led the largest group restructuring of ABB since its merger several decades ago. As ABB’s Group Head of Operations & Quality, his teams implemented Lean Six Sigma in 18 months. As CPO, he transformed a tactical, local organization into a powerhouse with 200 category teams, global service centers, and control towers for transportation management across the globe.

At Infineon, Daniel was the CPO of the semiconductor company, implementing automotive style procurement practices and outsourcing in a high tech engineering company. Before joining Infineon, Daniel led as Procurement Director Ford of Europe sourcing except drive train for all vehicle lines.

His teams were externally recognized for Capability Build-up & Management in Supply Chain in 2014 (Procurement Leaders) and received several awards for Supplier Sustainability Development. Daniel was voted 2019 into the CIPS European Procurement Power List.

He holds a master’s degree in business from Michigan State University and lived in Germany, USA & Britain and currently near Zürich, Switzerland.
